DESCRIPTION
Passing through Vilaflor, we will visit the most visited National Park in Spain: Las Cañadas del Teide, declared in 2007 a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Crowned by the Teide volcano, the highest point of the Canary and Spanish geography, this geographic enclave has not only natural, but also archaeological, geological and even historical value for its connection to the island's aborigines: Guanches.
After crossing the beautiful Orotava Valley - one of the main economic centers of the island - covered by its Canarian pine forest mantle, we will arrive at Villa de Icod, a town known for its wines and for its majestic Drago, an ancient tree of great symbolism for the entire Canary Islands. This old town has also the category of Cultural Interest Property. We stop for lunch (not included in the price of the tour).
We continue surrounding the north coast of the island until we reach Garachico - popular for its volcanic flows and for the islet that is in front of the town: Roque de Garachico. The journey ends in Masca, located in the Teno Massif, the northwest top of the island, a town with deep ravines and cliffs. The pirates hiding here from their privileged position, at about 750 meters high, controlled and intercepted maritime traffic between Tenerife and La Gomera. Throughout the tour, hikers are allowed to take photos at different points of interest where stops will be made.
