DESCRIPTION:

Embark on a unique adventure that will take you through the almost lunar landscapes of the South of La Palma. Our exciting bus tour will take you through the charming corners of this beautiful place, starting in the colorful municipality of Fuencaliente. There you will be greeted by a flower-lined road that meanders between small Canarian houses with vibrant colors and sometimes perfect views of some neighboring islands.

In Fuencaliente, you will marvel at the impressive panoramic views from strategically located viewing points down the picturesque La Caleta road. This route will take you to the southern tip of La Palma, a truly unique place in the Canary Islands, surrounded by the last traditional salt mines that are still in production today. Immerse yourself in the authenticity of this site, where nature meets tradition. Well accompanied by the Fuencaliente Lighthouses, the old and the new. You can walk among the salt mines and take the opportunity to take some spectacular photos of the area. From this place, the lava flows of the Teneguía volcano are very beautiful and reach right next to the salt mines.

At the end of our tour of the treasures of the municipality of Fuencaliente, we continue towards San Nicolás / Las Manchas, a picturesque neighborhood of Los Llanos de Aridane that was built on land of ancient volcanic lava flows and today is one of the best places for wine production in La Palma.

A short stop to see the volcano and we will get fully into the lava flows of the Tajogaite volcano in 2021 on the new roads that are being built and where you will be able to see first-hand how the reconstruction work in the area is progressing, both for the reconstruction of homes and for agricultural and banana areas. Impressive images as well as very moving to see as you will be able to understand first-hand what really happened.

A small, accidental viewpoint on the Tacande road will be our last stop to see the Tajogaite volcano up close.

The last stop of the day, the Mirador de La Cumbrecita, the best viewpoint towards the Caldera de Taburiente. Unbeatable views towards the national park and the peaks of the island and where we can take a short walk to return from here to our hotels.
